100% solid hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) wood wand.
Length: Ca 335 mm or 13 1/8″
Diameter: ~13 mm
Wood Origin Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham (UK)
Harvest Method: Cut from tree. 🙁 (This was done before I had a policy not to cut from trees directly. I wanted to make a hawthorn wand for a friend and didn’t find any loose twigs around.)
Cut, stripped, carved/shaped, dried, sanded, sanded some more, burned, sanded a bit again and finished off with a coating of clear mineral oil to protect the wood.
Colour variations are due to the wood itself.
