100% solid azalea (Rhododendron azaleastrum? Azalea japonica? Azalea indica?) wood wand. The decoration I found on a list of medieval protection symbols.
Length: Ca 303 mm or 11 7/8″
Diameter: ~10-15 mm
Wood Origin Location: Wollaton, Nottingham (UK)
Harvest Method: Garden prunings
Cut, stripped, carved/shaped, dried, sanded, sanded some more, burned, sanded a bit again, and finished off with a coating of clear linseed oil to protect the wood.
Colour variations are due to the wood itself.
