100% solid box or boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) wood wand. The wood cracked in a few places when drying, so I applied some hot glue with purple glitter (#PaganPride!) to the cracks. I discovered by accident that watercolour paint worked well as a kind of woodstain when working on another wand (and changing my mind on the decoration half-way through), so I thought I’d use it to its full advantage here.
Length: Ca 356 mm or 14″
Diameter: ~8-14 mm
Wood Origin Location: Wollaton, Nottingham (UK)
Harvest Method: Garden prunings
Cut, stripped, carved/shaped, dried, sanded, purple glitter hot glue applied to cracks, sanded some more, painted with watercolour paint, burned, sanded a bit again, rinsed off, sanded again, and finished off with a coating of clear linseed oil to protect the wood.
Colour variations are due to the wood itself.
